Some Need to be Told
A photographic exhibit highlighting Brownsville's historic past and ongoing revitalization through the lens of Stephen Beckman. Stephen is full-time executive and photographer, and who is personally invested into the renewal of Brownsville through several projects in the community. “It is a great privilege to be selected 2022 Artist of the PIke. My exhibition will tell the story of Brownsville through my images and efforts to as many people as possible,” Beckman said. The exhibit had two components, first looking at the comparison of historic and current images of the town as well as pictural journey of saving and revitalizing the Maria's Lover House (a primary film location for Maria's Lovers, a post WWII period film released 1984) into an Airbnb.
